Finding the one before Christmas

I love this time of year. The weather is closing in – it’s getting cooler and the evenings are darker, but snuggling up in front of a fire with a loved one is one of the highlights of the year. We’ve had Halloween, and now Fireworks day, but the festive season is around the corner. Any minute now office Christmas parties, Christmas social gatherings and Christmas itself will be here. It is most definitely the most magical time of the year, and no matter what your religious beliefs, a time for forgiveness and fresh starts. It’s not however the most popular time of the year to be single, which is why now is a great time to get online and start that search for your festive date. A great place to start is by searching online for dating sites near wher you live (unless you want a long distance relationship) so for example search for “Jersey dating site” or “dating sites in Jersey” but obviously using a town or city near to where you are. You can also think about looking for “free dating sites” if you don’t want to pay for dating services until you’ve tried them out.

There’s so many fun ideas for dating at this time of year – so make the most of festive activities to get out there and enjoy those first dates. Here’s some of my favourite ideas:

Ice skating – pop up Christmas ice skating rinks are getting more and more popular every year. They can be super fun and informal and a great winter activity. Just remember that you may end up making a fool of yourself, so you need to be able to laugh at yourself and wear layers of clothing so you don’t get too cold or wet if (or maybe when) you fall over!

Christmas markets – these will be opening any time soon too. They are so much fun and not only are they a great way to get some Christmas shopping and decorations purchased, but you really can’t beat mulled wine or a hot chocolate with a shot in it (my personal favourite is Baileys) when you are out and about in winter.

Christmas movies – as the festive period approaches, a lot of cinema chains will show Christmas movies and even Christmas movie marathons. There are loads of classic Christmas movies that I’ve never seen on the big screen so I always like to keep my eye out and see what is showing.

Parties – whether you like ugly Christmas sweater or jumper parties, or black tie balls, this time of the year is your time to shine. There are parties every day and with every theme. Whatever you like to do you will find something – just search online for Christmas events near you. Some are inside, some are outside, some are during the day, and some are in the evening. Some are suitable for adults and some for kids. It really is the most fun and most sociable time of the year, so make the most of it and get your party on!
