If you like pizza and find yourself in New York then you HAVE to do a Pizza Tour with Scott’s Pizza Tour! I did The Original Crosstown Pizza Walk and had the best time! What Scott doesn’t know about Pizza in New York (and in fact, all pizza) is frankly not worth knowing. You will have great food, and a great time. You are even given a Scott’s Pizza Tour notebook and pencil to make notes about the different places and pizza you try to help you remember what you enjoy the most.
We started off at Lombardi’s which has been recognised as the oldest pizzeria in America.
We also visited John’s of Bleecker which is super famous to pizza lovers and foodies alike.
At each spot, Scott told us about the history of the restaurants and of pizza in the US. The walk between restaurants was short but enough to see some of the “real” New York that the locals know. One of the best things about the tour (apart from Scott’s knowledge) is the ability to try different types and recipes of pizza. There’s nothing quite like it.
Even writing this post and looking through my photos is making me hungry. I definitely want to go back to New York City, and when I do, another of Scott’s tours is most definitely going to be on my itinerary. It might not be on the “usual” list of things to do in New York such as see Central Park, or go up the Empire State Building, take the Subway and walk the Brookyn Bridge, but it is no less part of New York culture now and Scott is well known as being THE authority on all things Pizza Pie!
I’m off to go and plan my next trip to New York so I can get some more pizza goodness!
