Ken, often referred to as the Garden of England, is a beautiful part of the country. Whilst it may not be top of people’s lists of places to go in the UK, it really has so much to offer that it should be on that list. In the South East of England, it is relatively close to London and all the more popular tourist spots, but some people don’t want to explore on their own. My first tip would be to search online for a Kent dating site or dating sites in Kent. Ask the locals for places that they recommend. Here are some of my top ideas for days out – whether they are for a date, or just for a day out on your own or with family or friends.
The Big Cat Sanctuary – this is an amazing place which is not only a conservation charity, but a home to over 50 cats of all shapes and sizes. It is in Smarden in Kent, and has lions, tigers, jaguars, leopards and many many more. They offer lodge stays, big cat experiences and photography workshops, all whilst running as a charitable and conservational organisation.
The Hawking Centre is trip advisor’s number one thing to do in Kent according to their website. They offer all kinds of experiences with hawks, falcons, eagles and all sorts of other kinds of large birds of prey. This is a particularly popular day out for more mature guests, and so if this is your kind of thing and you are single, it might be worth checking out over 50s dating sites.
If animals isn’t your thing, then you should check out the Shepherd Neame Visitor Centre & Brewery Tour. It includes a behind the scenes tour of the UK’s older brewery. Their visitor centre has won tourism awards, and you can sample a variety of ales and lagers.
Ramsgate Tunnels is another highlight. It is UK’s largest network of civilian wartime tunnels. You can find out about how the tunnels were built, see the town that evolved underground and listen to stories of life underground. This is definitely an attraction for all ages.
Last but definitely not least is the Micro Museum. A museum showcasing vintage computers, gaming and micro electronics. There’s plenty of classic games consoles to play and see the evolution from vintage computers through to the digital technology evolving today. You get a few hours of gaming time included in the entry fee.
Whatever your interests are, and whoever you go with, have fun and make sure you have a great time. If you are going to any of these on a first date, just make sure to meet in a public place, have someone know where you are and check in with them during the evening and again when you get home. Ideally find somewhere convenient to get to and from via public transport if you are going to have a drink as well. Dating at any age can be a lot of fun, so just relax and go for it.
